Ms. Takeisha Albertie

Takeisha Albertie has served in public education for 17 years.  During that time she has held several positions, including Assistant Principal, Curriculum Instructional Specialist, AVID Coordinator, teacher, department lead, and coach; all of which were previously held in Killeen ISD.  She received a dual degree from the University of Maryland University College in 2006 – a Bachelor of Science in Government & Politics, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  In 2011, Ms. Albertie obtained her initial master’s degree from Texas A&M University–Central Texas, a Master of Science in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in History and a minor in Criminal Justice.  Under the guidance and direction of a former principal, Ms. Albertie’s interest in leadership was sparked.  As a result, she went on to pursue a master’s in Educational Leadership.  In 2016, she accomplished this task by earning a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Central Texas.  Currently, Ms. Albertie is pursuing her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, and she is expected to graduate in the spring of 2024.

 

In her service to Killeen ISD, Ms. Albertie has also served on various committees at the district and state levels.  She has served on the District Discipline Consistency & DAEP Placement Improvement Team, Site-Based Decision-Making Committee, AVID Site Team Committee, Texas Education Agency Standard Setting Committee, and was a TEA Proclamation Panel Member and Secondary Curriculum Council Member in 2015.  In addition to her participation on various committees and panels, Ms. Albertie has also developed and implemented curriculum for Killeen ISD and facilitated professional development.  Her most recent presentation for secondary campuses at the district was the “Killeen ISD Student Code of Conduct Review,” and her other presentations include a focus on Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Closing the Achievement Gap, and Making Learning Relevant for Students.

 

Ms. Albertie is a native Texan.  She has two beautiful daughters, Brionna and Bailey, who are both currently attending college.  In her free time, you can find her enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her extended family.
